There are mornings when I wake up feeling defeated. I feel like I’ve missed it big time. A lot of times I have, and unfortunately my emotions toward God can change because of this. Often times, causing me to draw back from Him or come to Him ashamed or less often. But the Lord reminds me every time that His love for me never changes. It is steadfast. I am His Son. There is nothing that I can do to remove His love for me. I was adopted into His family by His only Son’s blood. If He didn’t spare His only Son when I was a sinner, then how much more should we expect Him to continue to love us and graciously give us all things!
I heard a story about a young orphan boy adopted into an affluent family. In the first few months, the boy would creep past his new Father’s office in fear of disturbing him. Yet, each time the Father noticed, He would enthusiastically invite his son in to sit on his lap and talk about his day. Slowly, the young boy realized that he was accepted by his Father and that there was nothing he could do to change the love the father had for him. After all, He had been chosen and paid for! It is so similar with us and our Heavenly Father! You have been chosen, and the most costly payment has been made for you! Jesus blood! Know that He loves you and wants to be with you. lyrics
If you wake up and feel defeated
And things don’t feel quite right
Don’t draw back from Father
His love remains, He’ll never change
Craw up on the couch
Approach Him boldly and ask away
He is longing to be with His children
He says, Child, ask away. Ask away.
A million things will distract us
But there is nothing like being with you
You calm our fears and tend to our pain
You give us the answers that make our spirits rise
And the joy overflows
So as you go through this day
Do not let shame draw you away
His love remains, He’ll never change
And He wants to be with you!

It may not be a full-fledged LP, but All Delighted People is probably my favourite of Sufjan's works. Without an overaching album theme to tie the songs together, it felt like Sufjan was free to experiment on each track and give them their own unique sound. And because of that (and Sufjan's talent), every track on there is a standout track. Angkasawan
