As wonderful as life is, everyone has days of misery, hardship, and pain. Those hardship's are a reminder to us that things are not as they were intended to be. Sin entered the world and separated us from God. Separation from God results in death, pain, and suffering. All of this pain we experience is not from God. We are the problem. Our greed, our selfishness, our pride, our backbiting, gossip, bitterness, and hatred is what has led us to where we are. But there is an answer! I've shared it through about every song on the album so far. Namely, the grace of God that offers the world redemption through His Son Jesus. It's the only way! But why do we still suffer after we surrender to the reigning King and Lord of the universe? Why does God allow pain to still effect our lives. Well, scripture says that we are still living "in this present evil age". Although Christ's work on the cross defeated the devil and his darkness, defeated sin and death, The Lord is patiently waiting for more people to receive His offer of salvation. Think about it. What if He had come one year before you accepted His gift? There are many more who need to come. We are living in the "already, but not yet" period of Christ's Kingdom, just like King David was anointed as king yet ran from the evil king Saul for over a decade until The Lord put an end to Saul and exalted David to his throne. When Christ returns a second time to the earth, He will not come in meekness and humility, but in power and judgement to destroy all evil and once and for all put an end to suffering and tears caused by sin. All Christ's own, found in Him and covered by His blood will be caught up in the air with the LORD where we will see Him face to face. We will live with the Life Giver forevermore on the new heaven and new earth with no more death and no more pain. I can only imagine what it will be like! Hasten the day, LORD.
lyrics
Oh to be with you
Oh to be with you
Oh to see your face
Oh to be with you
Oh, to feel your great embrace
It’s all I think about
It’s all I dream about
To see your face
To see your face
Oh to be with you, yeah
I will run into your arms
You’re already running toward me
I will fall on my knees and kiss your feet
You will clothe me richly and commence the feast
You are with me now by the Spirit
And your presence is the sweetest place
But I’m waiting for my eternal home
Where we’ll live you free of sin
We are your dwelling place
A holy city
We’ll see you face to face
And we will be with you forevermore

It may not be a full-fledged LP, but All Delighted People is probably my favourite of Sufjan's works. Without an overaching album theme to tie the songs together, it felt like Sufjan was free to experiment on each track and give them their own unique sound. And because of that (and Sufjan's talent), every track on there is a standout track. Angkasawan
