I've mostly done construction work in my life... and generally I get put on the detail finish work like painting, caulking, cleaning... and I enjoy it! A lot of that work is tedious and slow and often times allows me to listen to sermons, the Word, or great music. One particular day, while painting a close friends house, I was listening to a sermon by Mark Driscoll where he was teaching on the topic of fear. He made it known that the commandment given the most throughout scripture is "fear not". I was shocked to hear that and my heart was convicted. I began to think of all the ways I feared. I feared obstacles in life like sin, I feared my future, and I feared what others thought of me. I realized, ultimately, that the core issue of fear is lack of trust in God. Trust is what God wants the most of us. Trust that He will keep us in Him, that He will never leave us, that He will keep His promises, that He will protect us and provide for us. His Word gives us example after example of His faithfulness. He never fails. Heaven and earth will pass away, but His Word will never pass away! So, whom shall I fear? He is my light and my salvation. Jesus is The Lord of all and I will not fear. Neither should you.
lyrics
I find my mind worrying about what man thinks of me
I am fearfully and wonderfully made
I will not listen to the lies of the devil
Whom shall I fear?
I find myself before a giant
Too great to overcome
The Lord is the refuge of my life
I will not be afraid
Whom shall I fear?
Whom shall I fear?
Whom shall I fear?
You are my light and my salvation
I will not fear
I will not be afraid
Be strong and take heart
And wait for the Lord
What am I so afraid of?
Why am I so afraid of it?
Who am I afraid of?
Jesus is the Lord.

It may not be a full-fledged LP, but All Delighted People is probably my favourite of Sufjan's works. Without an overaching album theme to tie the songs together, it felt like Sufjan was free to experiment on each track and give them their own unique sound. And because of that (and Sufjan's talent), every track on there is a standout track. Angkasawan
